The executive governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde on Monday hosted the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors in Abuja.

All the 13 governors elected on the platform the main opposition party attended the meeting, details of the meeting is yet to be made public.

But it is coming as the PDP is preparing to pick its candidate for the forthcoming Edo State gubernatorial election, which has become a source of controversy.

Governor Makinde had turned down the offer to be the chairman of the Edo State PDP Ward Ad-hoc Delegate Primary Election, citing the short notice and irregularities.

Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas; Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, and Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki were present at the meeting.

Others at the venue include Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang; Deputy Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ossai; and Deputy Governor of Delta State, Monday John Onyeme.
