There is a public service announcement that has gone viral on the social media allegedly warning residents and visitors to be off the Lagos streets come August 1st 2024 till August 15th.
This is coming days ahead of the planned nationwide protest planned by some youths across the country.
The click news reports that this might be a move to prevent the planned protest from taking place in Lagos State, Nigeria.
The statement whose source is yet to be ascertained is everywhere online as we speak.
It reads
“Public Announcement:: Attention Residents and Visitors of Lagos:
Please be informed that the Oro Festival will be observed in various communities across Lagos from August 1 to August 15. This traditional Yoruba cultural event involves significant rituals and processions, which are integral to the community’s spiritual practices.
Important Guidelines:
Restricted Movement: Women and non-participants are required to stay indoors after dark during the festival period.
Road Closures: Certain roads and areas may be closed to accommodate the festival activities.
Safety Precautions: Adhere to local advisories and respect cultural practices to ensure your safety and the smooth conduct of the festival.
