Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has dismissed the Commissioner for Information, Mr. Paul Nwosu, citing allegations of incompetence as the primary reason for the action.

Nwosu, who had held the position since the beginning of Soludo’s administration in 2022, was reportedly relieved of his duties on Tuesday.

According to a source close to the matter, Nwosu’s removal was attributed to his failure to effectively manage his portfolio.

In his place, Blue Print reports that Mr Law Mefor has been nominated to take over the role.

Mefor is presently awaiting confirmation by the Anambra State House of Assembly, which is expected to approve his appointment shortly.

Despite his dismissal, Nwosu claimed that his departure was voluntary, citing personal reasons for stepping down after serving for eight years under former Governor Willie Obiano’s administration before continuing in Soludo’s government.

However, sources suggest that Nwosu had a limited presence in public engagement throughout his tenure, with reports indicating that he did not hold any press conferences or maintain regular communication with journalists since his appointment.
