Bimbo Akintola, the ace Nigerian actress, has revealed why she remained unmarried at age 54.
In a recent interview with colleague Emmanuel Ehumadu, the actress said she is still single because the man she could have spent her life with passed away.

“He died… the person I could have done forever with is gone,” the film star said.

The veteran actress said: “He died…I don’t talk about it but he died. Do you know how long it took me to find him, a very long time but he is gone.

“I don’t believe that you get married for marriage’s sake. If you are not going to be truthful to your vows, then why are you doing it? The person wey me fit do forever for don die.

“He’s gone. I am not saying that you can’t have two or three loves in your lifetime but do you know how long it took me to find that one that I knew I could stay with?”

However, the actress acknowledged that if she finds a man that she can spend the rest of her life with, she would remarry, irrespective of her age.

She said: “If I ever see someone and I see forever with that person, I will do it even if I am 82, I will do it but I won’t do it if I don’t see that person.

“I am not able to just stress myself out for anything. Do you know how difficult marriage is? It is difficult, it is very difficult and you will now go on and do it with someone you know you can’t do forever with.”

Akintola stated that she will not yield to societal pressures to marry. The film star said she believes in marriage but has not found anyone she can connect with on the same level since losing her soulmate.

The actress also questioned the sources of income of some of her colleagues.

Born on May 5, 1970, Akintola is a graduate of the University of Ibadan (UI), where she earned a degree in Theatre Arts.

She made her acting debut in 1995 in the iconic film ‘Owo Blow’, alongside Femi Adebayo, and rose to fame after ‘Out of Bounds’ (1997) which featured Richard Mofe-Damijo.

Akintola has received numerous awards and accolades for her talent. She earned a nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the 2013 Nollywood Movies Awards.

The movie star won the Best Actress category at the 2015 Eko International Film Festival for her role in ‘Heaven’s Hell’.
