JUST IN: Oyo Rep, Agboworin Empowers Vulnerable Groups And PWDs In Ibadan

The member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Ibadan Northeast and Southeast Federal Constituency, Hon. Abass Adigun Agboworin, has called on the people of Oyo State to support and encourage people living with disabilities and vulnerable goups.

He made this remarks, during the disbursement and distribution of a strategic empowerment program for disabled and vulnerable persons in his constituency, which the event hold today at the Local Government House within the Oyo State Secretariat, Agodi Ibadan. Which was organized in collaboration with the National Directorate of Employment (NDE).

In his remarks, today’s empowerment programme , is not the first and will not be last one , by next year after the completion of 2025 budget, more series of empowerment programme will hold in the forthcoming yearfor teeming youths ,women group including traders and artisans will be among the beneficiaries..

Speaking further, “i wasn’t born into a wealthy family, but we never went hungry. As the Yoruba adage goes, *‘Bẹ́ẹ̀bì bá ti tán nínú ìṣẹ́, ìṣẹ́ búṣẹ́’* (Poverty without hunger is no poverty at all). This is why I believe that empowering people in business is a direct path to alleviating poverty,” he said in his heartfelt speech.

The director of National Directorate Employment, (NDE) Mrs Steve-Ogundipe Olayinka applauded Hon. Abass Adigun for his unwavering commitment and support given to empower his constituents and teach them how to be a self-employed and self-reliance in the society. She also admonished the beneficiaries to make use of the equipment and cash given them wisely for productivity for their livelihood rather than consumption of unnecessary of worthy life..

expressed profound gratitude to Oyo State government under the leadership of Gov. Seyi Makinde’s administration and Hon. Agboworin for the uniqueness initiatives and inclusiveness of persons with disabilities in their people-oriented programme.

He urged other honourable colleagues to imitate Hon. Agboworin style of leadership towards the plight of people living with disabilities.

In a separate remarks, others dignitaries that are present also commended Hon. Abass Adigun Agboworin as one of the best performing honourable in the national assembly even both within and outside his constituency. He did not have political boundaries in terms of given back the concept of good governance and good representative to the society.

They encourage the beneficiaries to make use of the distributed items and cash grant given to them for their intended purposes and should aid their businesses rather than sold out.

Among the beneficiaries, Mr Mojeed Olubode from Ibadan North East Lg & Mr Ibrahim Ọmọ kẹtukẹtu praised Hon. Adigun Agboworin for his exemplary style of leadership for supporting the vulnerable and people with disabilities with necessary tools and cash given to them.
