In the wake of extensive power outages throughout its service areas, the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company has publicly apologized to its customers.

A combination of forced outages, load shedding, earth faults, and disconnections brought on by non-payment were blamed for the outages, which impacted multiple 11kV feeders.

Late on Saturday, IBEDC sent a news statement on its X account that detailed this. The following picture lists the impacted feeders, per IBEDC:

The Transmission Company of Nigeria’s scheduled maintenance and unanticipated earth faults were cited by the company as major causes of the disruptions.
In order to prevent more interruptions, the message also urged clients to swiftly report issues and make payments.

We very regret that we were unable to provide the anticipated number of hours of supply on your feeder, the release said. This resulted from earth faults, load shedding, IBEDC forced outages, TCN planned outages, TCN load shedding, and disconnection for nonpayment.

With the exception of the Stadium 11kV feeder, which is still out because it was disconnected for nonpayment, kindly take notice that all of the feeders listed have been restored.

We are still dedicated to providing the anticipated number of supply hours. In addition, IBEDC suggested that instead of using self-help to fix problems, users should call their service centers or the customer care hotline in the event of an emergency.
