…Distributes Laptops and Cash grants to participants
Oyo lawmaker, representing Ibadan North-East/South-East Federal constituency, Hon. Abass Adigun Agboworin, has again empowered sixty youths with ICT tools including a brand new laptops and cash grants support to their new skills.
This is even as the lawmaker doled out a sum of three millions naira to support the participants. During the presentation of the ICT tools on Friday, which event held at the Local Government House Secretariat in Ibadan.
Hon. Agboworin reiterated his commitment to human capital development, noting that the one-day training program is to create job for the youth and to be self reliance..
According to him, the primary assignment of the legislature is make or amend law and oversight function but my commitment is always making a direct impact to the communities..Whilw this program is designed to take away youth from poverty to prosperity and make them self independent and resourceful to our society..
The lawmaker, who noted that empowerment are pillars of support to families, environment, community and societies, added that youths deserve to be supported by individuals and government towards reducing poverty and boosting their earning potentials.
Agboworin hinted that the empowerment program is not the first it’s kind since assuming office in 2019 and pledged to continue supporting his constituency’s development.
Noting that, he is in politics to serve his people, the lawmaker reeled out some of his achievements in the last Six years in the areas of infrastructure including construction of schools, police stations, mobile clinic, series of empowerment to the people including people of disabilities and others.
He, however, urged the recipients to make adequate use of the tools especially in the economic hardship to be self reliant rather than being a job seeker.
The programme featured a comprehensive ICT training session led by Dr. Chukwuemeka from University of Abuja, who equipped the participants with the necessary skills to thrive in today’s technology-driven world.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to Clicknews.com in a separate remarks after the programme, they expressed their gratitudes to Hon. Agboworin for his benevolent heart by supporting and equipped them with necessary tools and cash grants given to them at this critical point of economy hardship facing of our dear country.
The beneficiaries said the lawmaker remained of the most performing House of reps member in Oyo state and urged other lawmakers to emulate him and giving back to the people in their constituents and large.
The event was attended by notable stakeholders including ICT experts, government functionaries and host of others.
