Amid widespread jubilation in Ibadan ahead of the formal pronouncement of the next Olubadan of Ibadanland, Isaac Ladoja, son of high chief Rashidi Ladoja, has said his father is fully prepared and qualified to ascend the throne of his ancestors.

Speaking in anticipation of the expected announcement, Isaac described the long wait for the crown as worthwhile, noting that his father’s experiences have shaped him for royal leadership.
Although no official selection has been made, public excitement has grown around Ladoja, a respected statesman and ranking member of the Olubadan line, as the likely successor to the late Oba Lekan Balogun, who passed in 2024.

The Olubadan-in-Council is expected to make a formal pronouncement in the coming days, in accordance with Ibadan’s well-established succession system.
