Who is Engr Muftau Open Salawu, FNSE, FNICE?
Engr. Muftau Open Salawu is the newly announced APM Deputy Governorship Candidate from Ogbomosho land.
Born on 10th May 1973 into the Alapa Ruling House of Isale Ora, Ita Alasa, Ogbomoso North, Oyo State, Engr. Muftau Open Salawu is a distinguished civil engineer, entrepreneur, and administrator with decades of experience in both the public and private sectors.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, and has received executive training from Harvard University, USA, and London Business School, UK.
His professional career spans notable roles in the Federal Capital Development Authority, where he contributed to the upgrading of several rural health centres to full hospitals and participated in major housing development projects within the FCT.
As the founder and Chief Executive of Opinior Engineering Company Ltd, he has successfully built one of Nigeria’s leading real estate firms, developing 11 estates and delivering over 1,000 housing units across the country.
In public service, he served as Special Adviser on Works and Transport and later as Executive Assistant on Project Monitoring in Oyo State. In 2024, he became the pioneer Chairman of the Oyo State Project Performance Monitoring Agency.
A respected traditional title holder, he is the Babalaje of Ogbomosoland, Giwa Adini of Oyo State, and Waziri Jari Nupe.
