…Gov Installed as Aare Asoludero of Ibarapaland

Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has urged traditional rulers across the state to remain apolitical and serve as fathers to all, warning that monarchs who openly support political parties or candidates risk being drawn into partisan conflicts.

‎Makinde gave the charge on Saturday at the commissioning of the reconstructed palace of the Eleruwa of Eruwa, Oba Samuel Adegbola, where the governor and his wife were Conferred the chieftaincy titles of Aare Asoludero of Ibarapaland and Yeye Asoludero of Ibarapaland respectively.

‎The governor, who disclosed that he would vigorously campaign for his presidential ambition across the country, said traditional rulers should accommodate all political candidates who approach them for royal blessings and support.

‎He stressed that monarchs should not be seen to have favourites among political contenders, noting that their position as traditional leaders requires them to remain accessible and impartial to all.

‎Makinde said traditional rulers occupy an important position in society and should continue to provide leadership, guidance and stability irrespective of political affiliations.
