The camp of Governor ‘Seyi Makinde and the Allied Peoples’s Movement depleted further as a two-term member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Peter Oyetunji Ph.D has announced his exit.
A letter dated 6th October and addressed to the state chairman of APM by the politician cum town planner, explained that his decision to resign from the Surulere local government chapter of the party was majorly because of the failed promised of the governor to the party members since he assumed office close to eight years ago.
Oyetunji, who represented Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere state constituency, asked the party to strike out his name from its register at the state, local and ward levels, adding that in the last seven and a half years, “there has been total blackout of meaningful development by the local government and the state government. My local government surulere has suffered a complete neglect and absence of any meaningful people-oriented developmental project from state government, despite our loyalty and support for the party and the governor.
“The leadership style within the party has become characterized by arrogance and deceit, with little regards for internal democracy, transparency and the welfare of members.

“There have always been a deliberate gang-up and victimization of loyal and outspoken members, who seek accountability and progress for the party and the people.
“In view of the above, I can no longer in good conscience continue remain in the party after eight years of forestless effort,” he added.
