The lawmaker representing Ibadan North-East/Ibadan South-East Federal Constituency, Hon. Abass Adigun (Agboworin), has reiterated his commitment to strengthening security operations across Oyo State, as he presented the operational utility-Items to security formations across his constituency and their state headquarters.
The presentation ceremony held today, 30th of October, 2025 at the Civil Centre, Idi-Ape Ibadan, which brought together top security officers, community stakeholders and political leaders.
In his remarks, Hon. Agboworin said, the programme was the part of his commitment to complement the ongoing efforts of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration in improving security architecture in Oyo State.
Speaking further, during my visits to various security agencies offices within my constituency, i observed that many of them lacked basic utility-Items needed for effective operation. This presentation of items would address those gaps and motivate them (security agencies ) to discharge their duties effectively.
Moreover, he urged the other political officer holders, philanthropists, private organisations and NGOs to support security agencies with necessary utility-Items, operational vehicles and logistics because before i retired as US military officer, those i mentioned earlier assisted the government and provide necessary support to security officers. Here in Nigeria, government alone can not shoulder all the responsibilities.
Lastly, imagine our security agencies embark on a day or let alone a week strike, Nigeria would collapse and everything would be in a disaster. This is not the first time I am supporting security agencies, and it will not be the last. We must not only remember them during election periods, supporting them is an utmost collective responsibility, he added.
