The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rasidi Ladoja, has inaugurated the Ibadan Community Guard to collaborate with relevant security agencies for effective, timely policing of the eleven local government areas.
The inauguration ceremony was held at the Palace of the Olubadan, Oke Aremo, in Ibadan North Local Government Area on Tuesday.
The Community Guard will be posted to all eleven local government areas of Ibadanland.
The inauguration was necessitated by the prevailing security challenges in some of the local government areas.
The occasion also witnessed the inauguration of the Ibadan Economic Investment and Business Development Desk and the Ibadan Food Security Initiative/Gaari Ibadan.
The event had in attendance the former Minister of Industry and Iyalaje Iyalode of Ibadanland, Chief Mrs Onikepo Akande; Chief Dotun Sanusi; and the President-General, Central Council of Ibadanland, Chief Ajeniyi Ajewole.
