FORMER Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, on Tuesday held a closed-door meeting with the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, amid escalating political tension in the state.

The meeting comes on the heels of Fayose’s recent allegation that Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, was plotting to dethrone the monarch.

The claim has further fueled controversies surrounding an alleged impeachment move within the Oyo State House of Assembly, reportedly linked to the traditional institution.

Speaking briefly with journalists before entering the palace, Fayose said his visit was to “identify with the traditional institution,” adding that “the truth about the whole saga will soon be revealed.”

Sources close to the development indicate that the meeting may not be unconnected with ongoing political maneuverings in the state, although details of the discussions remain undisclosed as of the time of filing this report.

The closed-door meeting was still in progress as of the time of filing this report .
