An Indian man has gone viral on social media after exhuming and taking his late sister’s corpse to a bank refusing to grant access to her account.
The man reportedly went to the bank, pleading that his sister had passed away and asking to withdraw the money from her account. Reports suggested that the man attempted to withdraw ₹19,000 valued at around N274,000 from the late sister’s account.
However, the bank officials failed to guide the man or ask for valid documents like a death certificate. Instead, they insisted that the account holder who reportedly died in January to appear in person.
Consequently, he went to her grave, exhumed her skeletal remains, and carried them to the bank to prove her death.
The incident occurred at the Maliposi branch of Odisha Grameen Bank located at Patana block of Keonjhar district, reports alleged.
