The Omituntun Benedict Forum (OBF), a socio-political movement founded by renowned philanthropist and Agbaakin of Olorunda-Abaa, Oloye Benedict Akika, JP, has formally declared its unwavering support for all candidates of the Action Peoples Movement (APM) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The declaration was made during a statewide gathering and thanksgiving programme held on Sunday, May 31, 2026, bringing together OBF members from all local government areas of Oyo State.

The event, which also served as a thanksgiving celebration for the successful conduct of the APM primaries, witnessed enthusiastic endorsements and affirmations for the candidacies of Engr. Seyi Makinde, FNSE, as the party’s presidential candidate and Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, FCCA, as the governorship candidate of Oyo State.

Speaking during the gathering, leaders and members of the forum expressed confidence in the leadership qualities, developmental records, and vision of both candidates, describing them as the best choices to lead Nigeria and Oyo State respectively.

The forum further extended its endorsement to all APM candidates across the state, including the party’s candidates for the three senatorial districts, the 14 House of Representatives seats, and the 32 Oyo State House of Assembly constituencies.

According to OBF members, the endorsements reflect the forum’s commitment to supporting candidates who possess the capacity to deliver quality governance, promote inclusive development, and advance the interests of the people.

The thanksgiving session featured melodious songs, prayers and merriment for the success of the party’s candidates, peace in Oyo State, and the progress of Nigeria. Participants also expressed gratitude for what they described as a smooth and transparent primary process that produced the party’s flag bearers.

In a gesture that further energized attendees, Oloye Benedict Akika distributed Ileya gifts and cash support to members of the forum across the state.

Beneficiaries commended the philanthropist for his continued generosity and commitment to the welfare of grassroots supporters.

The gathering ended with renewed commitments from OBF members to mobilize support across all wards and local governments for APM candidates ahead of the 2027 elections, while pledging to work tirelessly toward the realization of the party’s electoral objectives at both the state and national levels.
