The Oyo State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, has revealed that the kidnapping of the sister of former Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu was a carefully premeditated operation that began as far back as early May before it was executed in June.

Speaking on Channels TV, Ayanlade said, “One of the perpetrators, popularly called Oloro, had been on the command’s watch list. The operatives continued to trail him until his eventual arrest on Thursday. After his arrest and interrogation, he cooperated with the operatives, which led to the arrest of another co-conspirator popularly called Dare Solution here in Ibadan. The two of them cooperated and explained how the operation was planned. We established that the kidnapping operation started around May when Dare Solution approached a personal assistant to the family.”

Ayanlade revealed that the gang had conducted extensive surveillance on the family, studying their digital footprints to map out their daily routines and lifestyle patterns before settling on a target.

He noted that their original plan was to abduct the mother, but after observing that it was usually the driver who took the children to school, they adjusted their strategy and shifted focus to the children.

He stated however that on the day of the abduction, it was the mother herself who drove them and the gang being already in position, seized the opportunity, abducted the victims, and took them to an unknown location.
