A former Accord Party aspirant for the Ibadan North-East Constituency II seat, Hon. Adedapo Olamiposi Dapsin, popularly known as Bibire, has declared that the All Progressives Congress will emerge victorious in the constituency during the 2027 general elections following his defection and that of his supporters to the ruling party.
Bibire, who announced this in an interview with newsmen in Ibadan, said he was compelled to leave the Accord Party after what he described as a lingering internal crisis that threatened the political aspirations of members and supporters.
He maintained that the decision was taken to protect the interests of his political family and ensure they remained on a progressive path.
According to him, he and his supporters have now been fully integrated into the APC and received by the party’s governorship candidate in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, alongside other prominent leaders, including Hon. Remi Oseni, Hon. Akin Alabi, Chief Debo Amoo and other stakeholders in the party.
”We began this journey in the Accord Party, but when the party became engulfed in crisis and due process was no longer being followed, we decided to leave so that our efforts and those of our supporters would not be jeopardised. Today, I am happy to be in the APC, where Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, Hon. Remi Oseni, Hon. Akin Alabi, Chief Debo Amoo and other leaders gave us a warm reception,” he said.
The former Accord aspirant expressed appreciation to the APC leadership for embracing him and his supporters, saying the reception further strengthened his confidence in the party’s unity and readiness for the next general elections.
He also commended one of the party’s leaders, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, for what he described as his fatherly support and political guidance, while praising President Bola Tinubu for providing leadership to both the nation and the ruling party.
”I also appreciate one of our leaders and father, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, for his support and encouragement. I commend President Bola Tinubu for remaining a strong pillar for the country and for the APC,” Bibire stated.
Recalling the circumstances surrounding his exit from the Accord Party, Bibire alleged that he and members of his political group faced threats after deciding to leave the party, insisting that such intimidation could not deter them from pursuing their political convictions.
”When we decided to leave the Accord Party, some people threatened us, but I told them that only God is my protector and nobody can quench my light. We remain committed to our political aspirations and to the success of the APC.”
Expressing optimism about the party’s chances in the 2027 elections, Bibire declared that the APC would record victory in Ibadan North-East Constituency II and urged eligible voters to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards, describing the PVC as the most important tool for electoral success.
”I can assure you that the APC will win the Ibadan North-East Constituency. I also pray that our governorship candidate, Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, will emerge victorious.”
I urge all our members and supporters to get their Permanent Voter Cards because the voter card is the key to victory.
