A former Chairman of the Governing Council of the University of Ilorin, Dr.Abdullah Jubril Oyekan,MFR has been commended for being an upright and incredibly honest public servant who loathe corruption and all forms indecencies in his active years.

The immediate past Chairman of the Muslim community of Oyo state (MUSCOYS),Alhaj Ishaq Kunle Sanni gave this commendation at the commissioning of the well he dug in the honour of the former public servant at the Akinjole-Omoloju,Bolohunpelu area, Egbeda local government of Oyo State on Wednesday.

Alhaj Sanni described Dr.Oyekan as a very firm and strict individual.”He is an epitome of virtues ,a symbol of pristine Islam and model for all righteous people irrespective of creed.Such phenomenal person should therefore be celebrated while alive”..

In his remarks at the event, the Executive Secretary of the Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN),Prof.Abdul Lateef Wole Abass described the duo of Dr.Oyekan and Alhaj Sanni as misunderstood individuals owing to their adherence to Islamic principles.

He however enjoined them to remain steadfast in their campaign for Islamic proselytization adding that with time people will realise that their actions are for public good.

Presenting the keynote address at the occasion, Alhaj Abdul Ganiy Abdul Salam, Chief Imam of Ishaq Abiola Ajimobi central mosque, Oke Ado, Ibadan appealed to the audience to regularly undertake virtuous deeds as doing so will not only make the world worth living but will earn them multiple rewards before Allah.

In attendance at the occasion were both the National Secretary General and Oyo state Coordinator of the National Council of Muslim Youth Organisations (NACOMYO),Alhaj Mas’ud Akintola and Alhaj Dawood Bolaji Afolabi as well notables from the Muslim community of the area.
