Jumoke Odetola, the Nollywood actress, has announced her transition into Christian ministry, revealing that she is “now a minister of God”.
The actress, while opening up about her disappearance from the screen, explainedthat she had been compelled by God to work for Him.
“I’m now a minister of God. I am entering a new season with God,” she wrote on Instagram.
“I truly appreciate the numerous calls. Messages & concerns of my friends, family. Colleagues…
Thank you so much. I feel seen. Cared for and loved. Yes. Something is going on in my life…but nothing is wrong with me. I am entering a new season with God. I am now a preacher of God.”
The actress, fondly called Miss Gargantuan, also noted that she had been contemplating whether she could keep it private but decided to announce it before someone else does.
“Yes! You heard right! A minister. I have been contemplating if I should be private about it,” she said.
But how can I be private about preaching the gospel when you could just see me on your street with my bell preaching the gospel.
“Let me bring myself out before out before anyone records me and bring me out. I need all the prayers in this new season.”
Odetola is also a filmmaker and scriptwriter. Known for her versatility, she has successfully transitioned between English-language films and mainstream Yoruba cinema over a career spanning more than a decade.
