President Bola Tinubu has blamed the opposition for the hunger and poverty confronting Nigerians, saying his administration is working to address the challenges.
Speaking on Saturday at the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign flag-off in Kaduna, Tinubu defended his administration’s performance and urged Nigerians to support his bid for a second term.
“I hear my opponents talking about hunger and poverty. Who created it? They did. They created the hunger; they created the poverty. We are trying to eradicate it,” Tinubu said.
The president said his administration pays salaries regularly and commended APC governors for their performance.
Our governors are working, and I am proud of them,” he said.
The president dismissed his opponents’ criticism of his administration, calling them failures with nothing to offer Nigerians.
“To you, the children of our country, this is a promise of a second term: prosperity. You will not regret voting. This is not a matter of hunger; this is not a matter of anger either. Our opponents are angry because they are failures. They have nothing to offer you,” Tinubu said.
Tinubu assured Nigerians that his administration would deliver “prosperity, consistency, growth, recovery and opportunities” if he is re-elected in 2027.
